An SSL/TLS certificate helps a browser verify the identity of the server and establish an encrypted connection. The certificate contains a public key and the domain names it covers. The private key stays on the server.

Industry rules limit each certificate’s lifetime. Your service includes free reissues within the service period. You request each reissue, complete any required validation and install the new certificate before the current one expires. Reissue is not automatic and does not extend the service period.

Domain-validated (DV) certificates are typically issued within minutes after validation. OV usually takes 1-3 working days and EV 1-5 after complete information is received. These are estimates, not guaranteed dates.

You can request cancellation within 14 days of purchase. Eligibility and the amount due are assessed under the Refunds & Cancellation section of our Terms of Service, including for configured, issued or reissued certificates. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe to the original payment method. When a refund appears on your statement depends on your bank.

Yes. Wildcard certificates cover subdomains at one level, such as shop.example.com and api.example.com. Multi-domain (SAN) certificates cover multiple hostnames within the purchased SAN allowance. Check the product details for the included names and any base-domain coverage.

During setup, you can ask us to generate a CSR and store its private key encrypted. Alternatively, you can provide a CSR from your server or our browser tool. You also need the required contact details and access to complete domain validation. Depending on the product and domain, validation uses DNS, email or a file upload. OV and EV also require organisation checks.

Businesses and individuals outside the EU can buy as normal. Purchases from EU countries are open only to businesses that buy exclusively for their business activities and give an EU VAT number we can verify in VIES. We cannot accept EU consumer purchases. That restriction follows our tax position rather than a customer’s nationality or residence. We are established outside the EU and account for EU tax only through the business reverse charge.
